Canon PIXMA iP7250 Colour Inkjet Printer Reviews

Customer review:
I bought this printer because the print head on my IP4700 failed and replacement of the head would be more expensive than replacing the printer. I don't need a multi-function device and main use is for photo printing, with occasional documents and envelopes. I'd read a few reviews of the IP7250, which concentrated on printing costs and made little real mention of print quality. It didn't help that reviews on Amazon started well, but more recently were low, dragging the average score down to 2 stars. As these seem to be related to specific issues with individual reviewers (for example, faulty units and high ink usage) I chose to go with Canon's past reputation and order the IP7250. Two days after ordering the printer arrived, despite being the 3 - 5 day free service so I started off impressed! Unpacking the printer was easy enough, with all of the tapes which need removing being easily accessible and the ink cartridges were easy to install. On first power up the printer initialised the print head, then a supplied thick paper sheet has to be placed into the printer to allow the head to be aligned automatically. All this took around ten minutes. The driver and associated utilities took an additional 5 minutes to install via USB connection on Windows 8. I later tried the wireless setup and this also was simple, with the wireless link being reliable so far. The paper supply mechanism has changed since I bought my IP4700; there is no longer a lift up lid to feed in paper which doesn't fit the main tray; instead there are two fully enclosed trays provided - one can take 125 A4 (or smaller) sheets of standard paper and the other tray 20 6x4 or 7x5 sheets of photo paper. Dymo LetraTag LT-100H Plus Label maker Reviews

Customer review:
Had the use of a much earlier version many years ago. Liked it then and this version is a definite improvement. Choice of font size etc. Tapes are easy to load and production of labels is quick and efficient. This is used in a home environment, so is not under the pressure of a machine in a busy office. It was a treat to myself and I am very happy with it.

HP Deskjet 2540 All-In-One Printer Reviews

Customer review:
The HP Deskjet 2540 is a small, easy-to-use printer that works fine for occasional users, like me. It is a three-in-one color inkjet printer, and is a wireless printer. The price is right and should fit into most household budgets. The big point for me is that it allows me to print from mobile devices using ePrint and AirPrint. So, I can print from my iPhone and/or iPad. The screen on the button panel on the left side of the machine shows two numbers. This panel makes tasks easier, I can print from my smartphone via ePrint. I press the "wireless" button and it's ready to go. All of the wireless functions are very easy. There's a printable "how-to" page that gives a step-by-step explanation of how to print remotely. Find the 2540 All-in-One's wireless network on your smartphone or tablet, enter the password and hit print. With the HP ePrint app installed on my iPad, the Deskjet 2540 automatically found photos or files, emails, and cloud services. Once you have your file, you just hit "print". The cartridges are in the front and come right out, they're easy to remove and replace. The printer is slow, but that is fine for my printing needs. The scanner makes a fan noise every time you scan a document, but it's easy to use and includes a number of settings, such as resolution and size, depending on what type of document you're scanning. The brightness and contrast are adjustable, and you can rotate and crop. For the money, this is an excellent printer for occasional family use. If you have a business or print a lot, look for another model. Recommended. prisrob 11-27-13

Texet A3 Laminator Reviews

Customer review:
I chose this one because (a) it takes nice thick 250 micron(2 x 125) pouches (b) it does A3 right down to business card size and (c) the price was fantastic (it was not much more than the cheapest A4 laminator!) It arrived in 3 days and it was well but not overly packaged, which was excellent. The seller also sent me an email, advising me what date and time the delivery would take place, which was also excellent. And never having used a laminator before in my life, I opened the box, read the instructions and successfully laminated several A6 documents in no time at all!!! And each one came out perfectly smooth and even :-) I also found that you could feed 2 x A6 pouches into it at the same time, which obviously halves the time taken to laminate them :-) And although I didn't notice it in the technical details or description, the one I received definitely does hot AND cold laminating! Apparently, you have to use specific "cold laminating pouches" for cold laminating. But as I had already purchased some 250 micron "hot" ones, I will just use the hot lamination for now... but it's still nice that the option is there in case I ever want to cold laminate a delicate object. Added 26 December 2013: It appears that I was just exceptionally lucky to have received the Texet A3 hot and cold laminator model LMA3R-V A3 and that this is actually listed as model number LMA3, which is just a hot laminator NOT a hot and cold one.

Sony ICDPX333.CE7 4GB PX Series MP3 Digital Voice IC Recorder Reviews

Customer review:
For such a small device and a reasonable price this little SONY Dictation unit certainly delivers in quality and features. I was a little worried at first as taking it out of the box the unit is very light weight, a little more substantial when the batteries are in. In use I found it intuitive to use and ergonomically designed with good sized buttons, if you do come undone there is no shortage of paper instructions in almost every language you can think of. This unit comes complete with a 4GB memory which provides up to 1073 hours recoding with a 96 hour battery life. If all that recording isn't enough for you there is a micro SD slot to add more memory or you can quite simply connect to your PC with the USB cable provided and download all your recordings (I found this simple to do on my windows 8 laptop). The playback of recordings is crystal clear through the built in speaker or just as good if you plug in some headphones. The noise cut feature does work and it does cut out a lot of the background noise. Not listed on the Amazon page but I did find it really useful the amount of built in track editing features that allow you to organise, edit the length of a recording to just the bit you need, folder away.....etc. Track Mark - Yes Erase - Yes Protect - Yes Divide - Yes Move File - Yes File Copy - Yes A product I would have no hesitation in recommending.

HP Envy 4500 e-All-In-One Printer Reviews

Customer review:
Nice compact design without bits sticking out so suitable where space confined. Easy to install from printer display screen instructions with supplied cd or online. I did both - online for our pc and from disk for laptop. Dialysis screen small but clear typeface easy to read. Allow enough time to customise installation if you do not want to install all the bloat ware, games & for registration which took an age. Printer response time good but scanner noisey/slow in operation but quality good. Quaity of prints good. Have tested all basic functions but not tried printing photo's yet. Easy to access innards and install cartridges from large flip up lid under document bed which is important for those of us who are 50+ with dodgy hands. So far so good and happy with my purchase.

Fellowes Powershred P-48C Cross-Cut Shredder with Safety Lock Reviews

Customer review:
The dimensions are 36cm height by 36x26cm. It is a little bigger than it could be but for me this isn't a big problem. The build quality is pretty good and it looks stylish. The material is better than those entry models that are made of cheap plastic. It can shred staples and credit cards. The shredded paper size is 4x45mm. It is pretty heavy but this is good since it doesn't fall over if somebody bumps into it accidentally while walking by. There are some sharp blades that you can see when you take off the top from the case but it has a sensor that cuts off electricity when you open it. The feeding section is 4mm wide and the blades are 45mm deep from the top which both add to the security if you have babies or children at home. There is also an on-off switch on the back side and a lock mechanism on top. The locking mechanism requires to press and push a button at the same time to unlock it. I think the locking mechanism could have been more complicated. Probably this will only prevent babies younger than 1 year old to unlock it since it is so easy to press and push. When the heat is to much it turns itself off and there is a light that will tell you. Overall, I'm very happy with the product. ---- Update 4 years later (November 2012): It still works like new. The only downside I can think of is the loud noise which is not a problem for me but could be for others. Would I buy the same item again today? Yes, absolutely. The quality of the material is perfect and it looks cool.

Canon PIXMA MX455 All-In-One Colour Printer (Print, Copy, Scan, Fax, Apple AirPrint, Scan to Cloud and Wi-Fi) Reviews

Customer review:
I wanted a simple multi-function device that was wireless so multiple PC's / tablets could attach. So far both win 7 and 8 PC's have attached flawlessly and my wife's iPad printed to it first time with zero set-up. The freedom to place it where I want without having to worry about cable routes, manual switch boxes etc is wonderful. It's not fast but is fine for home. Haven't tried to scan yet. Set up was a breeze - a couple of settings to choose on the printer display panel, press the WPS switch on the router when prompted and job nearly done. Set-up is then completed from a PC. First one takes about 10 minutes but subsequent PC's only need the drivers and the set-up automatically detects the existing set-up printer and skips the printer set-up steps. Haven't used the scan feature yet, and unlikely to use fax facility as that just introduces a cable to tether the unit. UPDATE 28/05/13 I have used the printer for a few days now. Printing is fine and the manual duplex system works well. I have used the scanner extensively to digitise pages of a booklet, with no problems at all. Performance of wifi does not seem to be unduly slow, although I am scanning at low quality. Best of all, it integrates with Apple Airprint automatically so is able to print from my wife's PC with no hassle at all. UPDATE 6/6/13 I have now used the wifi scanning to scan a stack of photos, some as large as 10 x 8. The speed is not amazing but is perfectly acceptable for a budget device and the quality is excellenet. There is also clever software that detects and auto crops to the actual photo size. Excellent

Canon PG550/CL551XL High Capacity Cartridge - Multicolour Reviews

Customer review:
I bought the Canon printer because of the great reviews, but all the inks, even the XL sizes seem very expensive and don't appear to last that long. If a coloured ink runs out, the printer won't print in black only until the cartridge has been changed.

Veho VFS-008 Smartfix Scan to SD Stand Alone Slide and Negative Scanner Reviews

Customer review:
Now here is something worth buying! I have spent 10 years trying to scan my 101 boxes of positive colour-slides and countless 35mm colour and B/W negs, using traditional medium price 'sweep' type film scanners, as time allowed. Quality has always been a bit iffy, lacking in tonal range, but as I use Photoshop for correction, dust removeal, perspective control etc, etc, I have laboured on. I calculated that with the years left to me, I'd never finish the job. Then I saw this unit using a CMOS sensor of 5 meg. The price was too cheap to be any good but I bought it having read between the lines of the various reviews, some of the writers obviously expecting miracles at the price. It was an absolute doddle to use and so quick compared to the old scanners I was using, 4 secs scan time each against up to 1 minute for the same size image. Loading is dead easy and I use a blower brush after loading the slides or negs into the holder to remove dust. Colour and B/W negatives come out very well with a very good tonal range needing little correction. Colour slides being inherently of a very high contrast range come out fine provided there are no very bright highlights which affect the auto-exposure setting which tend to burn out. This might be the only downside to this effective scanner but I have managed to complete all my slides in a few weeks with only a small number being discarded, but these were not good slides to start with. However, with tens of thousands of negatives to start on (40 years worth of 35mm format, before going digital in 2000), I look forward to speeding through these over the next few years and we'll see who gives out first, me or the scanner. The fact that the unit can be used remotely is a bonus point and the use of a standard card (SD) is even better. Read more ›

Aurora AS800CD Cross Cut Paper Shredder with 8 Sheet Capacity and Large Waste Bin Reviews

Customer review:
This was a replacement for my old 'strip' shredder, and I'd have to say this is a great product, and so far I've had no issues with it at all. It has happily "munched" it's way through a whole stack of old bills & statements, and didn't even sneer when there were staples in some of them. The credit card slot also works well, but I have not tried out the CD shredding yet; however based on what I've found so far I do not anticipate any issues if ever I need to destroy a CD. Although it coped with 8 sheets, I found it easier to do no more than 5 at a time, and although the motor does get warm I haven't found any issues with it cutting out (unlike my old shredder). All in all a great product 9/10

Canon PIXMA MG3250 All-in-One Colour Printer (Print, Scan, Copy, Wi-Fi and Auto Duplex) Reviews

Customer review:
I have only had this a day but I am very impressed. I looked around at alot of printers before I chose this one. I mainly bought it because it supported air print so I could print from my phone or iPod as e mails and pictures are so easy to print this way. I had read a lot of bad things about printers saying they support air print but don't. I think this is a newer model and apple have also added support in the ios 6 update. Air print has worke perfectly so far, no issues at all Ok you have to install the disk on your pc, but with the USB cable it took 10 minutes was fairly easy then it worked over wifi. I checked to see if my phone could find the printer and it did first time It is very quiet, pretty compact and quicker than I thought. Overall I am really impressed with this. At less than £50 I thought it wouldn't be great but I'm glad I took the risk since there were no other reviews to go by Only downside is colours probably aren't as perfect as I have seen from other printers but still good quality. Not sure how long the ink will last but I'm not to fussed as everything else is good

Bose ® Soft Cover for SoundLink ® Mini - Green Reviews

Customer review:
Several people have commented on the cost of this, and rightly so - £20 is way too steep. However, I can't agree with those who complain about the lairiness of the colour. It's not a 'day-glo' orange, it's not even a particularly bright orange. Think classic Penguin paperback orange and you'll have a fair idea. And it is, pretty much, an essential. When you've spent the best part of £170 on the rather lovely Soundlink Mini, you're going to want to protect it in transit. I agree with those who've said the (even more eye-wateringly expensive) soft case is superfluous: this does the job. Needless to say, it fits like a glove.

Aurora AS610C 6 Sheet Cross-Cut Shredder with Waste Bin Reviews

Customer review:
I bought this shredder having previously bought a laminator from the same maker, now its hard to get very excited about a shredder, it arrived, i unpacked it, plugged it in and it worked... I have shredded loads of junk mail and the resulting waste should be good for kindling for my fire this winter. The shredder itself has performed very well and does what i expected - it shreds paper, I did have an old shredder a few years back which cut the paper into long strips - this one cuts it into pieces which seems to take up less room so i have to empty it less - which is good. The shredder also is able to shred credit cards...I haven't tried this yet and will update here when i do. Other than that it looks quite nice and doesn't take up much room, if you want a shredder for your home, I would say this is ideal.

Canon PG-540XL & CL-541XL High Capacity Ink Cartridge Pack Reviews

Customer review:
I needed ink. I didn't want a compatible ink, I wanted the genuine stuff. (I've never had much success with compatibles). I was unable to buy the ink from the shop where I bought the printer a few days before (Tesco at that), so went to my usual source, Amazon. I found this twin pack of extra large capacity inks at a few pence more than individual inks would cost in normal retail outlets. I made the purchase, and waited.......not very long though. The delivery time was superb, and the inks turned out to be the genuine article. I have nothing but praise for the supplier.

Rexel Style Plus Confetti-Cut Shredder Reviews

Customer review:
Good design, I expect that from Rexel and it doesn't disappoint. I have had two shredders both cheap and the difference shows. What's different for me is that the paper shreds drop to the bottom of the bin and are nice clean cuts, my cheaper variants, whilst cross-cutters tended to bulk up the paper shreds, this meant I was constantly emptying or compressing the paper, this unit is totally different. It's stylish and easy to use. I am extremely pleased with it. It cuts paper and staples and clips and credit cards. the paper bin slides out from the side and it has a window so you can see if it's full, with other makes you have to lift an often heavy motor unit off the bin to empty them, so another good design feaure, added no need to oil the cutters. Overall an excellent product with a 2-year warranty.
